Giving Tuesday Another Success
Giving Tuesday is one of the best-organized fundraising campaigns around. LESSB is proud to once again participate in the campaign. Led by the Community Foundation of West Texas, Giving Tuesday WTX brings in hundreds of thousands of dollars each year to around sixty Lubbock area non-profits. These non-profits include agencies that support everything from animals to arts to childhood issues to senior adult needs, like ours with LESSB.
The #GivingTuesday movement first began in 2012 at New York's 92nd Street Y, in partnership with the United Nations Foundation. In 2015, Lubbock nonprofit, Alstöm Angels, in partnership with the Community Foundation of West Texas, brought #GivingTuesday movement to the South Plains region. In 2016, the Foundation took on the campaign as a community initiative. In 2020, the name was changed to #GivingTuesdayWTX as the campaign benefits Lubbock and 14 surrounding counties.
LESSB has been part of Giving Tuesday WTX since its inception. The campaign has raised over $43,000 in the last seven years for LESSB. The campaign closed out on Giving Tuesday, November 28th. If you would still like to donate, go to the Donate page on this website. LESSB raised $6,846.15 through the campaign, and another $600 has since been donated through the website as a result of our efforts.
