LESSB/APS at Rising Star Baptist Church

In honoring the request of an LESSB board member, a Lubbock APS supervisor, accompanied by the local LESSB vice-president and the requesting church member, gave a presentation to the congregation of Rising Star Baptist Church in Lubbock, Texas on April 24, 2024.

 The church pastor graciously allotted time at the end of Sunday service for the presentation as well as a question-and-answer period. After the service, church members, including the pastor, privately sought assistance and additional information from their fellow congregant presenter.

 LESSB, APS, and Financial Exploitation brochures were given to, and appreciated by, approximately forty-five church members who were very grateful to learn more about how APS operates and the ways in which LESSB supports APS clients

 The pastor and members of this church have been loyal financial and material contributors to LESSB’s mission through food and cash donations to the Silver Star Room.

 The Rising Star Church presentation was the first of its kind for LESSB and was deemed successful enough in educating the churchgoers that LESSB is planning future such events in order to reach those in need of APS services.
