Summer Grants

Llano Estacado Silver Star Board is proud to announcement four grants that were awarded in the months of July and August.

Community Foundation of West Texas has granted an award of $5,000 to help with portable air conditioners and heaters for APS clients. This is the 9th year that LESSB and CFWTx have partnered. With this grant, CFWTx has provided $49,000 in grant funds to us—$44,000 for HVAC and another $5,000 for Covid relief.

Betenbough Homes has also awarded us with a $5,000 grant. This is the 8th grant provided by Betenbough, for a total of $36,000. Betenbough began with us by funding transportation needs (bus passes, etc.) and then enlarged their grants to include utilities and home repairs.

Two Lubbock Walmart Stores awarded grants in July through the Walmart Community Grant program. $2,500 comes from Walmart on the South Loop and another $1,000 from Walmart on the West Loop. LESSB has now received a total of $42,250 over the past nine years from the seven Lubbock area Walmart stores.
